Scarlet's Remains

DarkArt:  How was born your band and why have you choose this name?
SR:
The band was born in 2004 after Horror Show broke up. I spent about a year writing songs, I came up with about sixty different ideas and started forming the band with this material. Originally I started the band with TJ from Fear Cult, he wanted to call it "Scarlet" and I didn't like that because there was a glam rock band in the 80's that already had that name. There is a band called the Fuzztones who have a song called "Charlotte's Remains" and I got the idea from that song.

DarkArt: How do you define your music?
SR:
It is powerful, moody, somewhat intelligent and political. Sometimes drowny but with high energy.

DarkArt: What are your music and artistic influences?
SR:
This band comes from several different backgrounds and influences. Evegost comes from a New Wave World Music background, Bari comes from a very Gothic background and Marzia and I come from a very Deathrock/Punk background and we mesh all the influences together to create one sound.

DarkArt:  Who write the texte and compose the music?
SR:
Evegost writes all the lyrics, Bari and Tony write all the music.

DarkArt: What are the subject that you prefer to talk about in your texte?
SR:
A lot of the lyrics are Eve's personal experiences and view on life. love, politics. self-mutilation and confusion.

DarkArt: What are the songs that you prefer to play in your show and why?
SR:
Baghdad
Circular Thoughts
Far From Paradise
Hope Againts Hope
Anatomie
Children Write On Missiles
ReUnion
Sacrifice
Fear Not
Martyr Complex
The Magician
Wholesale Murder
Spin
Metall Heiligenschein
1492

All these songs are the best representation of the intensity we like to portray

DarkArt:  If you had one message to tell to the world, what it should be?
SR:
If you haven't seen us live yet, come and check us out!

DarkArt: What are your plans for the future?
SR:
The new album "The Palest Grey" will be released on Dark Dimensions this coming September. We are looking to follow the release with another European Tour.

DarkArt: One word for our readers?
SR:
If you are walking with someone and you step in dog's shit and they break a twig out of a rose bush to help you clean it out, you have found a good one and never let them go!
