DarkArt: How was born your band and why have you choose
this name? Secret Secret: At this point that
would be rather painful to explain, or could be found on our website. I think
what you are really getting at is what does the name mean to us, right? That’s
something that has changed over the years. Funny how you grow into your name.
More and more I believe it to be the case that being a bit cagey is a good idea,
if you know what I mean.
DarkArt: What are your musical and artistic
influences? Secret Secret: There is a lot that
moves us, allows us, or even pushes us to create. I could give you a list of
bands and what not - or just have you check on our website. Preferably I want to
impart that there is a whole lot more to it than who or what. It has a lot to do
with emotions. For instance, what’s it feel like flying down the road perched on
a motorbike on a cold December morning? How does that relate to a current, past,
or future relationship? Or stepping on a rusty nail - is that like falling in
love? Does it trigger your emotions? It certainly lets you know that you are
alive. These are more the window to the creative process. What it is like to be
an artist. To get in touch with your emotions.
DarkArt: Who write the texte and compose the music?
Secret Secret: Depends on the track. Depends on a
lot of things.

DarkArt: What are the subject that you prefer to talk about
in your texte? Secret Secret: Much like what I
was saying - we take a look at life. See how it fits, or doesn’t fit into the
perceived reality. How does it make you feel? Does it push you? Does it give you
reason to live? Does it hit you like a hammer - can you still get up, or is the
breath completely knocked out of you? Translate that into a song? Sure, why not?

DarkArt: What are the song that you prefer to play in your
show and why? Secret Secret: Depends on the show.
For us it is more fun to play songs that the audience enjoys. For that reason
Nichiyoubi is a fantastic song to play live. The production values make it a
challenge to pull off, and of course we never hit the same recorded sound with
our live version. Still we make up for it with audience participation. Just ask
anyone that’s danced on stage with us during that song.
DarkArt: Do you have a CD that we can buy (for
France)? Secret Secret: For now you and your
readers can download some of our music from our website. I think we still have
the French version of “People Go Out” up there too. Let me know how you like it
wont you?
DarkArt: What
are your plans for the futur? Secret Secret: We
are always striving to become better musicians, better song writers, better
people. Self realization is high on the list. We’d love to tour in Europe. I
miss Japan and the friends we have there, very wonderful people. It would be
great to perform there again. For short term plans we do have some surprises in
the works. That gets back to the cagey bit I was alluding to previously. All I
can say about that is keep an eye on us.
DarkArt: One word for our readers? Secret Scret:
Enjoy life if you can. There is a lot of evil around us
trying to put us down, even still everyday there is always something, some ray
of light in your life that makes it worth while. At times it can be really hard
to see, but it’s there if you look. A dear friend of mine killed herself over
some guy. I can relate. We get so tied up in these relationships, to the point
were we believe it is part of our identity, and maybe it is...I know after my
last break up I wanted to not exist. It was really hard to even just breath. My
friends were there for me. They helped me get through it. Did they save my life?
I don’t know, but they were there for me and I’m still around.
So when I
think about my friend and the pain she obviously was going though I just have to
wonder. Why did she not call out to a friend? What stopped her? I can’t help but
think that were I or one of her other friends just able to see her, talk with
her, give her a hug, just hold her hand - help her get through that painful
experience that maybe just maybe she’d still be around. I think about that a
lot. Is it an exercise in futility? Maybe. Maybe it’s part of the healing
process. I do know I miss her. Miss her friendship, miss her love. So there’s
your word for the readers. Love. Give it, accept it, and make sure the people
that you love know you love them. Show them your love.
